KOBA Korean BBQ restaurant - Adelaide

First time in this restaurant as kids were craving for Korean BBQ, so we gave the place a go. Went to have lunch buffet with my family. There were no, i repeat, no food variety at all... it's as if we were served left overs from yesterday's. Fried rice had a funky smell, steamed rice was already toasting in the rice cooker. To make matters worse, when we asked for more meat, we were told that we already exceeded the maximum four serves. First off, they said it was unlimited buffet, and no one told us that there was a maximum. What do you expect?! My kids were still hungry as there was nothing else to eat except the meat.. this place is unbelievable. One of the worst experience we had. The toilet, oh, that's another story. If you want to waste your money and get disappointed big time, this place is for you. For us, never again.

We had a $39 buffet which had a good selection of different style meats with a couple of prawns and piece of calamari. They also have a nice selection of Korean side dishes, sushi and hot dishes. Everything was tasty and the service was friendly and efficient. Our vegetarian friend also ate well and was only charged $23.40. The Korean plum wine was also very nice.

Let's face it, Korean BBQ isn't the best place for freshness, though I was ok with that. However, for the cost per head, I would suggest they keep a nice supply of food stocked at the buffet. It was literally empty throughout our visit. The meats we cooked over the grill was tasty enough but I can't recommend this place to anyone.

From the start, hot charcoal took time to be brought out. During the night it cooled down and took almost 30 minutes to be replaced and heated up again. Very limited choices. It is open 1730-2200HRS but by 2000HRS they already "ran out" of some of the food. 4 types of Sushi had no meat in it, almost only vegetable (1 with a bit of Tuna on top).

Thought I'd try something different with the mrs so we gave this a shot and I loved it. The food and setup of the BBQ was quick so we weren't sitting for long before we had our food and could begin. I was pretty full and satisfied with everything that was offered in the combination meals and would go back again in a drop of a hat.
