Club Eros - Buenos Aires

Very nice steak (1/2 bife de chorizo) for a decent price One great surprise is the "calabaza" tasty and well cooked Very good value meal The place needs some / tons of maintnance....

I originally went to Club Eros in hopes of having a traditional asado including steak, chorizo, & morcilla. Upon my arrival I was so pleasantly surprised by the authentic ambiance & Buenos Aires natives! Nothing touristic about this place, refreshingly! As it happened they had steak but none of the others that I was looking for originally. Of little matter. I noticed the beautiful large plates of homemade gnocchi with a bolognese sauce! Everything was delicious! The servers and the fellow guests were so friendly and engaging and helpful! I wound up going to Siga la Vaca the next day for my Asado that included everything although in a very touristic environment! I highly recommend Club Eros for an authentic non touristic neighborhood Buenos Aires experience! Heart and soul!

The restaurant was opposite our hotel so we gave it a try one evening and really enjoyed it. Large portions of food and best of all good local atmosphere - there just happen to be an Argentina vs Brazil soccer match on. If you know how to order the steak (medio in spanish) the t-bone would have been melt in your mouth but unfortunately the english-spanish translation got mixed up but it was good nevertheless.

I been going here for over 25 years, when the neighbourhood was not a trendy place. Now that things in the area have changed so much Eros still keeps it's essence. It still has the same waiter, it still has the small football pitch (because it is a sport and social club) and they still serve the simple classic dishes they always did.

I don't know how this place has any decent reviews at all, it is just terrible. To start with, it's disgustingly filthy, with formica peeling off the table-tops. The service is rude and neglectful, and the food is unappetizing and tasteless. No matter how you order your steak, it will arrive extra well-done, dry and tasteless. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
