The food we ordered was quite good, as was the service. That being said, I was unimpressed with the place because of the prices, which are very expensive for pasta, e.g. over 300 pesos for gnocchi. Like many other Argentinian restaurants, they charge a "service fee" on top of the bill, theirs is rather high. By the time you are done you've easily paid over $250 pesos more per person than you normally would. And I am just including one main dish and a water, no appetizers and no dessert. Not really worth it if you ask me, but maybe I am just too much of a snob to appreciate good pasta.
We went there for lunch. Our waitress, Vanessa, was lovely and patient with our lack of Spanish. My husband and I split a Caesar salad and a lasagna. The salad was good and we were surprised that it had chicken. The lasagna was average. Definitely not the best we've had. I had a copa of ok wine and my husband had two beers and it was about $50. Also, the WiFi wasn't working which was disappointing.
It is certainly a Trattoria: Italian food, abundant in the portion, not fancy, not great or sharp flavors, spirit of home made food. The staff is very kind but a bit disordered: they forget part of the order, they do not pay attention to details nor are continuously checking if every thing is fine; but always with a smile! We had for dinner some risotto, unluckily not creamy at all, and ravioli which were okay as well but didn't shine in any aspect; appetizers and dessert were okay as well.I would recommend this place to come with family, children, enjoy the ambiance and relax, not being pretentious on the food; a bit overpriced in my opinion.
We went to Olivetti and had an excellent meal. There were several great options on the menu that told me we would be coming back. Until we got the bill. While the price for the food was in line with most restaurants, the cost for the table service and beverages was outrageous. We did not order wine, as there was nothing on the list below AR$ 350 a bottle. Mineral water (300 ml) was ARS$ 50 as was the table service, with a poor bread basket. So between the drinks, table service and tip, we paid for a third person to join us. Disappointing, because we definitely would have gone back for the food.
