Solitary Restaurant - Katoomba

Wow, after hearing some mixed reviews, most were quite a few years ago we visited after a recommendation from the owner of Silks.The food was simply wonderful.Beautiful , sophisticated and delicious.Every meal we ate or viewed was salivating!The building probably needs some love , but a great Lunch was had.

This restaurant is in a lovely position with nice views in an attractive old building, but is let down by either disinterested or inexperienced staff. The food is ok, not great, but is pricey. I have heard good reviews about Solitary, but it was disappointing on our visit.

Called in to this little restaurant on the top of a cliff overlooking spectacular views. Crisp mountain air and plenty of room to walk around outside to admire the scenery. Once inside I had the most delicious afternoon tea with passionfruit curd and plenty of fresh cream. There was a really wide variety of teas offered and everything was served promptly but the experience was relaxed and there was no pressure to hurry. A perfect winter afternoon.

We had a great lunch - salt and pepper squid with asian salad. Just lovely and clean and fresh taste. Friendly, pleasant service.

Whole experience was enjoyable, waiters were friendly and professional and the meal was creative and delicious.
