Spitz Im - Köln

Just like the Hopper hotel, where it's located, this restaurant is low-key, but very elegant. The dishes are delicious and a bit sophisticated, the service is great.

It appears that the details of this restaurant, Fertig im L.Fritz, have not yet been updated from the previous proprietors. I hope they do update their trip advisor details, as reviews from the previous establishment do a disservice to the restaurant that is there now.This restaurant is just a few steps away from Hotel Santo where we stayed for our visit to Cologne. We caught sight of the candlelit courtyard one evening, and had such a warm welcome by the young waiter, we decided to eat there the next evening. The experience lived up to our expectations, we were made to feel very welcome and received excellent customer service. The beautiful candlelit courtyard is stylish, serene and relaxing. Our meals came quickly and were delicious. My father had a light tuna salad which was worthy of a main course, which he said was outstanding. My daughter and I are vegetarian, and we ordered a simple pasta dish, but again, it was beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. The side salad alone was not your average side salad. The cost of our drinks and meal represented very good value for the high quality of the cuisine and service. Highly recommended!

This restaurant in the Hopper Hotel is no longer open (October 2013) I'm struggling to say more (as the review must be 50 characters!) because there is nothing to review. It used to be very nice food so its a shame that it is not open.

We had some real nice German dishes here. A bit more refined than what you normally get. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. A bit funny with the wine for a restaurant. We were with a small group and found out after the first 2 bottles of red wine, they did not have any more of that wine ... So we switched to another red wine. the waiter checked and informed us that they had 4 bottles of that wine. I guess my wine cellar is larger then theirs :-)

My wife was not so keen for German cuisine, therefore we tried that address; friendly staff, I personally enjoyed the "gesier salad" and the "kidneys", my sons enjoyed their bavette and other dishes.The dessert are average, and we were not impressed by the wine, but the experience was satisfying.
