I had the edible chicken that came in a creamy sauce with fresh bread and pasta on the side. there is not much seat, depending on the daytime there might be a waiting time. at the time of our visit we had no reservation and it was quiet after 2 pm local time. also near the National Museum.
Classic lyonnaise bouuchon. our escaped were lyonnaise sausages and a lyonnaise salat. the mains were a snake I had never had such a dish and it was delicious, and the other was a cute chicken in a Lyonnaise sauce. For...dessert was the chartreuse glacier the winner. service was efficient. a small interieur probably place for sixteen and then it would be a break. detinktive red and white decoration. this restaurant has been for decades. it is still strong due to its small size and its distinctive Lyonnaise menu. here hopes that it has another 80 years.
Last night we enjoyed the culinary highlights of this tiny bounty restaurant in the center of lyon. it fulfilled all my expectations!
Everything started on the right way: typical restaurant, small, cozy, old decoration, friendly and easy to go (but professional and friendly, I would just come back for this) service. Finally, our cote rotie from 2009 was probably not that old (I didn't see the bottle. And the wee was that old, sure that the kitchen is far from being the best I had eaten (I am then worried by other restaurants called “Bouchon” but the worst was. 165e for two people and are called back by the owner because I forgot to pay two coffees for 5 euro. 5 euro after so much money for 2 people! and that when I ordered a coffee, but she gave me two of it! and I paid two (I was more than honest. if they have a owner like this, I can imagine that she has completely forgotten what cuisine means. I would not recommend this place for anyone!
When in Lyon you need to try a typical local restaurant, called a bouchon. Chez Hugon is a great one. Been around for more than 50 years. Arlette Hugon will great you warmly. Reservations are essential; book a table inside which flows with ambience. Great...food (try the quenelles- a local favourite, at least once). Great service, nice vintage decor, good value. Highly recommended.
