The...wine list is wonderful and the prices all middle range. here I want to come
I paid 14 euro for an average burger and frozen pommes. it felt like a demolition. the terrace (which is the supposed highlight of the place) was not open for any reason as it was sunny this day. the environment of the room where. I had lunch nice decoration, but the acupuncture was terrible because I could really hear the whole conversation of the tables near, although they did not really speak loud. since I have not spoken German, they really treated me badly, with stuffed settings and made me ready to crash my lunch and leave the place as soon as possible. not a single smile or a thank you that I can pay an astronomical price for a burger that I could cook myself at home. avoid it. there are so many better places to eat in mainz. I just went because it was great near the hotel where I stayed for one night.
This will be a strange and difficult review, because all in all we had a very nice dinner here, but eating itself was not what we had expected. at first over the place (we had dinner in the garden): his simply fantastic. a very...nice, elegant, old garden, far away from the sounds of the city. Ideal for a romantic dinner. also the service was excellent and here comes the strange part: for me eating was a bit disappointing, especially in contrast to our expectations. if they choose such an elegant restaurant in this price range, they expect at least something flawless. but my two cauliflower soup and the saffron sauce on my fish had a distinctly disturbing artificial taste. from which the food you can only agree with a previous commentary: the word is very well justified and yet we had a very nice evening, so I would go overall for a very good, but please serve a meal that corresponds to the fantastic atmosphere.
That is probably the best restaurant in mainz. the position is heavenly. with good weather the guests can sit on the terrace with views of a beautiful garden, filled with trees - a particularly huge one that looks about 200 years old. there are large sunshades. to cover the terrace, but the guests should be aware that it can be very hot if they are not in the shade. at our recent visit we saw two groups of guests who change tables to get out of the sun. an advantage of this restaurant, at least for us, is that it is much quieter and more peaceful than the crowded outdoor terraces in the city. another advantage is that there is absolutely no smoking. if they don't like to taste their food while breathing cigarette smoke, this is a good place for them. the service is attentive and almost perfect. compared to our experiences in other restaurants we really feel that at copperberg terraces the servers were easily available when we needed them. at the same time they never rushed us. this place is also for the offer of a vegan menu, front and center. we ordered the three-part meal, with appetizer, main dish and dessert, for 38 euro. we were also initially supplied with brot, along with a tomato dip (although I had my doubt whether the bath was vegan, I did not ask). the starter is excellent: thin strips of zucchini filled with quinoa. the main dish was not so impressive: cherry-fritter, with pieces sweet potato. it was in order, but something bland. the dessert was innovatiw: Lavendel-fiedertes eis (not sure if it was really ice, since it was supposedly vegan, but it was very rich) and a small piece of lemon cake. delicious. we enjoyed a few glasses of every white mountain, a white wine that was new to me, but had been recommended by colleagues. it was excellent. all this comes naturally at a price: copperberg terraces can be the best in mainz, but it is probably also the most expensive. also a fee of 19% service is added to their bill. if they are in mainz, they save this place for a special occasion. we are pleased that we had the opportunity to feed there.
Wanted to book a table and ask questions but the front door hostess was extremely rude, saying she had enough to do and was very busy and was not willing to answer any questions we had. Not a good way to win customers.... I will...not be back!
