Wow!), and overall ambiance of the restaurant. It is by far now one of my favourite BYOW's in Montreal. I still can't get over how amazingly accommodating the staff were, especially the manager Ulesis. The evening was beautifully executed from inception to completion and never once did the staff get annoyed by us (we were a group of almost 40 and were mingling all night long!!)! A big, big, big thank you from all of us for making our evening one to remember!
Everything is good , dont forget to reserve, excellent service , their beef bavette is unreal, a must in Montreal and bring your own wine,...................
Had amazing food and its a bring your own wine.Only thing desserts lacked for me.Other in group enjoyed them so maybe I am picky. Will go back
The restaurant is an BYOW establissement, so we thought that the chef should to be ambitious to run this kind of business and we also hoped for an positive adventure.Arriving ther our first impression was that it's a cozy place with tables in- and outside. It was not too growled so we chose a table seat and waited for service. There it started: The waitress was not able to speak English and was kind of confused by us asking for ingredients of the dishes. However, we ordered scallops and froie gras as entrees and risotto and salmon (house marinated) as a main course. After 10 mins we receive a cold soup; Do you remember the taste of this baby food, categorized by Months?? Exactly this is how the "carrot soup" or whatever it was (she didn't even let us know) tasted. After quite a long time of approx. 20 mins we received the entrées; Scallops and froie gras. We can't complain about this - it was average! Then they bring the Lemon-Sorbet what was unfortunately too cold to split it with your spoon. Even when you wait 5 mins and win against the ice after a long and painful struggle, you get a frosty shock!!! Indeed the taste with the Vodka sauce was good, but going through those conditions not enjoyable. Now the grande finale; Marinated Salmon and Mac'n'Cheese Risotto, excuse moi, Risottoroni, excuse me "Risotto à la romaine grillée". Please, Can anyone explain to me how it is possible to prepare a salmon tasting like NOTHING and put SO MUCH "PARMESAN" (to be honest I think it was pseudo-cheese) in a Risotto, that you really think this is a cheap Mac'n'Cheese dish, which you buy next door at "Dollarama". Unfortunately this was the most disappointing Risotto I've ever ate! It was soaked with cheese and dripped from the spoon. We immediately asked for the bill and left really disappointed!
We had eaten a few times at the old location of Les Heritiers and loved the traditional bistro vibe: tables crowded together, traditional bistro menu at reasonable prices. So we tried the current location on our recent trip to Montreal. The new location is much more upscale and modern, with plenty of spacing between the tables; a small and rather eclectic menu and somewhat higher prices. We liked the old location better, but would probably be in a minority in that respect. What hasn't changed is the quality of the food (excellent) and the friendly and efficient service. It has also maintained its BYOW status (with no corkage fee), so you can bring your favorite wine to dinner. We definitely recommend Les Heritiers.
