Food selection is according to the menu board which changes frequently featuring superb, authentic cuisine. My husband and I dined there twice and enjoyed the food immensely. The restaurant owner guided us beautifully with respect to wine pairings , while the chef took his time in preparing the entrees. My husband is still talking about the garlic cream sauce that complemented his veal! The service was welcoming and respectful even if you do not speak french well.
Don't be fooled into thinking a restaurant on a relatively main road in Paris doesn't have atmosphere and charm. We went to Le Trou Normand without high expectations but were blown away by the quality food, friendly service and typically Parisian atmosphere. The perfect start to our long weekend in the city! The sauces which came with the faux filet and veal deserve particular praise, we didn't want to leave a drop.
We always come here whenever we are in Paris and we are never disappointed. The food is always delicious, based on all times classic french bistro dishes. On our latest visit, my partner had the most succulent pork dish and our salmon was cooked to perfection. Run by the same team for over 30 years, it's always a pleasure to go back, knowing we'll be looked after. Well worth a visit if you've never been.
This place is just amazing...we discovered it by chance, we actually wanted to eat some fondue but the nearby place was full. I have one of my best meals ever in here. Every thing we had was impeccable. I had a starter with shrimps, chorizo and cream that was out of this world. Hugely recommended.
If you need to sit and watch your phone throughout the meal OR get constant texts OR constantly take pictures of yourself and your food, don't go to this restaurant. This is a small, quiet, traditional French restaurant owned and run by very 'proper', dignified French gentleman. It is furnished with banquettes as well as chairs & is very comfortable, given the hideous plastic seating in many modern French restos. Service is prompt & friendly, possibly moreso to locals than to tourists. The menu changes regularly, not completely but in part. Wine suggestions are always good & appropriate for the dishes. Wine is sold by the glass as well as the bottle. Entrees are excellent & wide-ranging. Meat & fish plats are both delicious, as are desserts. Again, for emphasis: if you are loud, rude or can't put down your phone for a meal, this is not the place for you.
